About MeHi! I'm Madi. I teach Ecology and Physics this semester. I am also enrolled full time as a graduate student at Fort Lewis College, earning my Master's in Education. I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska where I would eventually go to college at the University of Nebraska and earn my B.S. in Biological Sciences. It was during my time there that I fell in love with rock climbing, and became immersed in my school's outdoor leadership program as an instructor and a guide in climbing and backpacking. After graduation, I moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado to serve in AmeriCorps and to be closer to climbing areas. There, I chanced upon a stray kitten named Hops, who has become my best friend and agent of chaos in my life. After my service was up, I decided to move to Durango in order to pursue further education to become a high school teacher.
